#TBT A PROUD HERITAGE In 1956, the 148th Fighter Interceptor Squadron became the 140th Air Transport Squadron switching from P-51 Mustangs to these Curtiss C-46 Commando aircraft affectionately known as the "Jug." Up to this point, the unit had only known fighter aircraft. This started the legacy of the 193rd always being ready for whatever the mission asked.
