Reattaching an antenna pod to aircraft
In a hangar at the 193rd Special Operations Wing, Middletown, Pennsylvania, Tech. Sgt. Michael Richer, aircraft electronics mechanic, uses a bomb loader to place an antenna pod in place, so that it can be reattached to one of the 193rd SOW’s EC-130 J Commando Solo aircraft, April 5, 2017. The antennas are needed to broadcast FM, TV, and military communications bands in order for the unit to perform their Military Information Support Operations and civil affairs mission. The unit’s mission dates back to the mid-1960s with an EC-121 Coronet solo aircraft. (U.S. Air National Guard Photo by Master Sgt. Culeen Shaffer/Released)
