Wing appoints new mission support group commander

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. -- During an assumption of command ceremony here Aug. 13, Col. Mike Cason, 193rd Special Operations Wing commander, presented the guidon to Lt. Col. Susan Garrett, appointing her as the new 193rd Special Operations Mission Support Group commander.

"She knows the struggles of each section, is a great bridge builder, and greatly encourages her people," said Senior Airman Kathleen Schmitt, career enhancements representative with the 193rd Special Operations Force Support Squadron.

Garrett previously served as the 193rd SOW MSG deputy commander before taking on her new role as MSG commander.

"I look forward to further growing relationships, meeting challenges, growing as a team and, most importantly, having some fun along the way," said Garrett.
