MIDDLETOWN, Pa. — A new commander was appointed to the 193rd Regional Support Group Sept. 21 at Fort Indiantown Gap.

Lt. Col. Kristian Post assumed command of the 193rd RSG during an assumption of command ceremony held at the Shambach Hall.

Post began his career in 1992 as a crew chief with the 193rd Special Operations Wing. After receiving his Bachelor’s degree from Shippensburg University in 1997, he was commissioned and went on to complete pilot training, serving as a pilot in the 193rd Special Operations Squadron. Post has held various positions across the Wing, commanding the 193rd SOS and more recently, serving as the 193rd Special Operations Group deputy commander.

Col. Terrence Koudelka, the commander of the 193rd Special Operations Wing, spoke on Post’s career and illustrated his accomplishments to the Airmen in attendance.

“Airmen of the RSG, your new commander Lt. Col. Post is a highly experienced and accomplished officer, who’s a perfect fit for this command,” said Koudelka.

While addressing his new Airmen, Post discussed his observations from his first few months serving as commander, and in his opinion, what made the 193rd RSG a great unit.

“The first thing, what I think makes us absolutely great out here, is pride. Pride for the organization, for your organizations,” said Post. “The can-do attitude is unbelievable. Everything that is asked, you guys are there. Little things, they don’t get you down, you just roll right over it and get the mission done. The support that you give to each other, the team cohesiveness, the family support, the alumni associations, I haven’t seen anything like that in a long time. It’s impressive. That’s what makes it great out here.”
