MIDDLETOWN, Pa. -- Col. Julie Curlin assumed command of the 193rd Special Operations Group here Feb. 11.
“She understands what it means to be an aircrew member ... and how to advance technology, which is a great asset to us at this point in time in our program,” said Col. Mike Cason, 193rd Special Operations Wing commander. “She brings an outside perspective.”
Upon accepting this new role, revitalizing the group is an effort that Curlin plans to focus on.
What we need to do moving forward is take care of our Airmen and our people, and advance the structure of our organization, said Curlin.
One of my focus points will be to minimize activities that might take away from the time we need to train, equip and prepare our Airmen to do the mission, she added.
Curlin previously served as the 112th Air Operations Group commander in State College, Pennsylvania.
