During an assumption of command ceremony at Fort Indiantown Gap, Annville, Pennsylvania, March 11, Col. Mike Cason, 193rd Special Operations Wing commander, presented the guidon to Col. Stacey Zdanavage, appointing him as the new 193rd Special Operations Regional Support Group commander.

“When I was a young lieutenant and captain, Sgt. Major Weaver taught me everything he could possibly know and helped me lead,” said Zdanavage. “I charge everyone in the RSG to lead. You don’t have to be higher ranked to help lead and help mentor.”

Zdanavage’s peers look forward to his future accomplishments.

"We are privileged to have such an inspirational leader,” said Capt. Colin Wilson, operations flight officer in charge, 271st Combat Communications Squadron. “I excited for the enhanced mission integration opportunities our new group commander is striving for, where we will realize increasingly realistic training opportunities.”

Zdanavage previously served as the commander of the 148th Air Operations Squadron, and was promoted to the rank of colonel at the beginning of this ceremony.

“I think we do have some fun looking forward, and some challenges,” said Zdanavage. “But there’s going to be large amounts of success moving in the forward direction.”
