A new security forces squadron commander was appointed here April 8, 2018.

Lt. Col. Barry Strube enlisted in the Air Force Reserve in 1998, serving in various security forces roles. Prior to taking command of the 193rd Special Operations Security Forces Squadron, he commanded the 166th Security Forces Squadron, Delaware Air National Guard, New Castle ANG Base.

“Thank you for allowing me this opportunity,” Strube said during his assumption of command ceremony. “From what I’ve seen … this place gets the mission done.”

Col. Susan Garrett, 193rd Special Operations Mission Support Group commander, welcomed Strube to the wing and congratulated him on his new role.

“Given his long career in security forces and his well-rounded background, Lt. Col. Strube was the obvious selection for the Special Operations Security Forces Squadron,” Garrett said.
