The strength management team with the 193rd Special Operations Wing here earned two 2017 fourth quarter awards from the Air National Guard Readiness Center Feb. 7, 2018.

The SMT obtained the Region 4 honors of Wing with Top Accessions and Wing with Top Critical Accessions.

These awards are earned by wing recruiting and retention teams that go above and beyond recruiting goals, surpassing other teams in their region, according to strength management team personnel. Last fiscal year, the wing’s SMT acquired a total of 60 accessions, or recruits, with 49 out of those 60 being critical accessions.

“One of the most difficult parts of being a recruiter is meeting the quota that’s given each month based on the needs of the 193rd Special Operations Wing,” said Senior Master Sgt. Martina Crouse, 193rd SOW recruiting and retention superintendent. “The 193rd strength management team was essentially a brand new team during the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2017 with four new rookie recruiters. These two awards show that the recruiters are working hard to meet the demands, all the while finding the best possible fit for each new Airman while fulfilling the critical needs of the mission.”

In addition, Tech. Sgt. Kalie Borkowski, a production recruiter with the wing’s SMT, earned Regional Production Recruiter and Retainer of the Year for fiscal year 2017 and is now competing at the national level.

“It is quite an honor and a privilege to be recognized for doing what I love,” said Borkowski. “I get to meet extraordinary people, change their lives and build the 193rd Special Operation Wing’s future.”
